F-STOP NAVIGATOR

Exposure compensation — click a value to see which parameter has to compensate by how many stops

What is a stop? A doubling or halving of exposure. Aperture f/4 → f/5.6 = −1 stop (half as much light). Shutter 1/250 → 1/125 = +1 stop (twice as much light). ISO 400 → ISO 800 = +1 stop (twice as sensitive).
Rule: if one parameter changes by N stops darker, another must become N stops brighter.
