What is TFP?
No money, no obligation. Just time — and in the end, pictures that fit.
Short answer
TFP stands for “Time for Print” — an old concept in photography, today rather “Time for Portfolio”. The payment is the pictures themselves: the model brings the time, I bring equipment, idea and editing. The result is finished, edited photos, free of charge and for personal use. No money changes hands, in either direction.
How the principle works
The stake — just time
Prior experience, a comp card or an agency are not needed, nor is a particular look. What counts is time and the willingness to be photographed.
Duration one to three hours, depending on the concept. Location, theme and schedule are discussed calmly beforehand.
What comes out of it
After the shoot, no editing is needed on the model’s side — I take care of that. The result is carefully edited, high-resolution images as a JPEG download. The number varies with the concept, usually between 10 and 30 selected photos.
These images may be used for a private portfolio, social media, applications or simply privately. No hidden costs. No expiry date.
What I use in return
I show the resulting images in my portfolio, on this website and on my social networks — as proof of my work. That is exactly why I do TFP: pictures for my own portfolio and the chance to try something new. Nothing beyond that: no exclusive contract, no restriction for the model, no sale to third parties.
Rights & use — at a glance
A common question: what is allowed with the photos — for the model, and for the photographer? Here it is clearly set out:

If more usage rights are needed (e.g. exclusivity or a commercial licence), this is simply agreed beforehand — no problem.

Frequently asked questions
Is modelling experience required?
No. Beginners are welcome. I guide through the shoot — nobody needs to know how to pose beforehand.
Are particular clothes or styling required?
That is discussed together beforehand, depending on the concept. As a rule: simply bring whatever feels comfortable.
Can photos be declined?
Yes. After the shoot, it is possible to say which images should not appear publicly — I remove them from my portfolio. No stress, no dispute.
How long until the images arrive?
Usually 1–2 weeks after the shoot. The download link arrives by email.
Under 18 — is that possible?
No, and that is a personal decision, not a question of content: photography of children and teenagers does not belong in my portfolio. Shoot images end up online, and whoever decides about that should be of age. After the 18th birthday, gladly.
